Just so you all know, we are trying to put the old community site back up again.
So if you have any work questions ext. please post there from now so we can
get things back up.
Currently I will be tooking after the community site there since Xia is doing
some upgrading on his site.

Well I have an obsession with East

we got some good places for

I just checked and it seems to be fine. We might want to see if the old people from the
previous community want to pick up posting again. I mean for those who didn't changed
to this one, or lost it after a while..

On the site there is a FAQ and some tutorials about
the palate. But in the end, its most up to you to make
one your self of the colours you use the most.

Well its nice to see that at least someone took the liberty to start a discussion there.
But exactly my point, not many people seem to post here, a separate part for the
feeds would make things a bit more easy to track. Just to start off with at least.

Megatokyo in the making

But now they have a small video of one of the frames
from the web comic in the making from what appeared
to be a scanned sketch.
Its in the left rant, under Piro halfway bottom of the page
Although its a small one, full screen seems to be fine also.
At least here it is. It has no sound ext just the process. But
its nice to see one being made.

Quite some time ago we switched to this new site.
And its time to evaluate the success of this new platform.
Personally I prefer the old one, as it seems it was more of
a group of people showing there work for the rest to comment on.
Also the weekly topic helped people to keep on painting/drawing.
I found that I'm drawing less since that stopped at least.
I also miss the shoutbox where one could quickly post a question.
Next to that it seems the new forum has more feed posts rather than
people posting. And if there is a post its often more directed to
Xia rather than to a broad community.
Of course this is my own feeling, and I just liked the old site.
But feel free to comment and vote, in the end its for everyone and
we try to bring you all the best.

I think if you keep going as you are, you will get a nice own style. But for the second drawing, the arm
doesn't seem to natural.

They seem good to me, but than again I'm not really good at critique. But maybe you want to make one point stand out more, the focal point. Like in the first one, for the background/sky, you might want to use a bit more
gray tone to make the whole blend in more with the front. That way you get more focus on the main character.

The best way to get going is to search for other work on the subject, photo's, drawings, films, whatever.
That way you can get a good idea of what it should look like. Maybe when looking for space ships, you
might also wane look at navy ships.

If you need subjects to draw, try drawing stuff you like, or are interested in. If you go
for objects you have. You can also better check if reached the result you want. If you
go for a realistic style I guess.
My self, I'm really interested in the German Democratic Republic. Often use the Soviet
Union as inspiration. Also researching helps a lot to get ideas. I found loads of propaganda
posters I use to get the right idea.

Honor Sword Presentation

Ok, time to start filling posting some new work I guess.
Here's one I finished today:
It's the presentation of a honor sword, as often would be given to officers in the army.
In the back is the "Palace of the Soviets", a very ambitious project started in Soviet Russia
that ended up into one of the larges outdoor public pools...

Ok, its finally here. A totally new and shiny community site.
Now we also get the change to join again.
Maybe some of you are going to use a new name, for whatever reason.
So for those who do maybe just let us know who you where on the
old community just so we all know who you where, if you like.
I kept my own name to keep it easy for everyone.
